RESCUE 1122 ON EMERGENCY ALERT DURING MOHARAM

Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Dr. Rizwan Naseer reviewed the arrangements for providing emergency medical cover to the mourning processions during Moharram-ul-Harram. In this regard rescuers have been assigned special emergency duties for all major cities of Punjab including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Sialkot , D.G. Khan, Sahiwal and Murree. In Lahore rescuers will remain on emergency alert with 24 fully equipped Emergency Ambulances, 15 Fire Vehicles and 46 Mobile posts will move along with the processions. Rescue posts will be established at Imam Bargah Bhakewal More, Samanabad, Niaz Baig Village , Ali Raza Abad, Chungi Amar Sadhu, Kotha Pind, Nishat Colony/ R.A Bazar, Cavalry Ground, A-Block Model Town , H-Block Model Town , Batapur Attokey Awan, Ada Shabil Hando Village , Aziz Pully, Lal Pul Mughalpura, Islampura Procession, Rang Mahal Chowk, Bhatti Chowk, Imamia Colony Shahdra and Jafria Colony. All mobile posts and ambulances with medical kits will be moving along with the processions to provide mourners with immediate medical treatment if needed. Emergency officers including trained doctors will supervise the arrangements. Director General said such arrangements are essential for mass gatherings so that any emergency can be responded in an efficient manner and it is the moral responsibility of citizens to give way to the Rescue Emergency Ambulances and Fire Vehicles. He advised citizens to dial 1122 in case of any emergency. Only timely call can ensure timely rescue, he added.
