The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has responded to over 2865 emergencies during Eid holidays, while maintaining its average record response time of less than seven minutes. These 2865 emergencies included 54.4% Road Traffic Accidents. In this regard emergency vehicles were deputed at all Eid prayer sites and sensitive areas along with trained emergency staff to provide immediate pre-hospital emergency cover in all major cities of Punjab including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Multan, D.G. Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Murree and Sargodha. Emergency Officers including trained doctors have supervised these arrangements during Eid days. The rescuers have performed special emergency duties to effectively cover large Eid prayer gatherings and have provided timely emergency medical, rescue and fire fighting services to citizens during Eid holidays. In Lahore rescue staff remained on special duties in district control room, emergency rescue stations, 30 equipped emergency ambulances, 15 fire vehicles and 6 special rescue vehicles. Special mobile posts were established for providing medical cover to the public gatherings at all sensitive areas in Lahore . Rescue 1122 by adopting this proactive approach has rescued over 790 emergency victims, while responding to over 897 emergencies in Lahore during Eid Holidays from 20^th September to 23^rd September. These 897 emergencies during Eid holidays include 62.3% Road Traffic Accidents in Lahore .The Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Dr. Rizwan Naseer said such arrangements are essential for mass gatherings so that any emergency can be responded in an efficient manner and it is the moral responsibility of citizens to give way to the Rescue Emergency Ambulances and Fire Vehicles. He advised citizens to dial 1122 in case of any emergency. Only timely call can ensure timely rescue, he added.
