RESCUE1122 BEING EXTENDED TO OTHER PROVINCES

The passing out parade of rescuers trained for Karachi was held at the Rescue1122 Emergency Services Academy, Shama Chowk,Ferozepur Road, Lahore. The Government of Punjab has extended special assistance to train people from other Provinces in emergency management so that citizens could be provided with a sense of safety all over Emergency rescue demonstrations of mass casualties due to accidents and explosion were also arranged on the occasion. As many as 286 Rescuers from Karachi have successfully completed Basic Rescue Course at the Emergency Services Academy , which also include current batch of 113 rescuers. These rescuers have been recruited by the Aman Foundation Karachi which is in a process to replicating the successful model of Rescue 1122 in Karachi . The cadets have been trained to provide Rescue, Emergency Medical Treatment and transportation to victims of emergencies. Quality training of newly recruited staff was achieved through close monitoring and weekly tests. Rescuers have been trained in life saving skills like revival of heart beat through Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, proper management of spinal injury patients, rescuers were also familiarized with rescue from height, search & rescue of victims trapped under collapsed structure and management of road traffic accidents, hazardous material incidents and disasters. Physical training has also been imparted to rescuers to ensure physical fitness and discipline. Chief Executive Officer of Aman Foundation, Ahsan Jamil thanked Rescue1122 for the training imparted to the passed out staff. We need continuous support from the Service and its visionary leadership for establishment of the Emergency Service in Karachi , he further added. Dr. Junaid Razzaq Chairperson Emergency Services Department, Agha Khan University Hospital Karachi and Mr. Junaid Minnae, Manager Integration, Aman Foundation also attended the Ceremony. Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue1122), Dr. Rizwan Naseer said that It’s a time of great honor that this successfully tested and evaluated model of Pakistan’s first trained Emergency, Medical and Rescue Service is going to be replicated to other Provinces. Dr. Rizwan Naseer said that for the success of the Service in other Provinces it’s necessary to recruit right staff and train that staff according to international standards. There should be an effective Emergency Response System with proper equipment for the success of the Service in other Provinces.
